1855 1C J-173 Flying Eagle Cent NGC PR67BN (PHOTO SEAL)

S-PT2, Two Leaves under the E in STATES. Bronze. This is an outstanding example with flawless surfaces, full strike and wonderful eye appeal. The fine die striations are evidence of this being one of the first examples off the freshly polished die. This is the finest example I am aware of, and I have seen every piece on the market for the last 30 years. The reverse die was previously used on the Liberty head die pairing. The clash from that obverse die is still visible on this piece. Ex: Highland collection (on holder); Stacks Bowers 7/15 ($25,850); Don Kelley collection.
