Description / 1858 1C Flying Eagle / Oak Wreath cent J-192 PCGS PR64 (PHOTO SEAL)
Choice Proof (12: 3,4,5). Snow-PT13. The popular Flying Eagle pattern with the reverse of the Oak wreath. These were included in the 12-piece cent pattern sets of 1858 sold by the Mint in 1858 to about 1860. a total of 75 sets were made and that is the mintage of this example. The mirrors are medium and there is a small lint strike-though in the field below the D in UNITED. It has a light golden tone. The only defect is a small scratch by the E in ONE on the reverse. Many collectors get the Flying obverse patterns to include as a representative for the Proof Flying Eagle cent. Certainly more affordable.
