Description / 1868 1C Rev Die Gouge Snow-13 Indian Cent PCGS VG10 (PHOTO SEAL)
VG (9: 3,3,3). RPD & DG FS-302-901. Very few marks. This is a very scarce and unusual variety. The die gouge on the reverse is ver bold and is visible by the O and C anf in the shield. This is likely die damage to the blank die. When the design is impressed into the blank die, a process called hubbing, the deep grooves in the die face get impressed with the design into the die. These grooves get effaced in some areas, but not in all areas. It is a real cool variety and one that is actively searched by eager collectors.
